Rusty Says, “Thanks!”
How Suzie Prepared for St Lucia!
“Well I can honestly say I have never been this fit before. Over the course of 10 weeks, (with Christmas in the middle may I add!), I have lost weight and more importantly inches. I have had a very difficult few months and getting some personal training was the only way I could see myself reaching my goals during a testing time. Jacqui has been a great support and really knows her stuff. The goal was to feel fab when hitting the beach this weekend and I can honestly say I do! What I didn’t realise at the beginning was just how much this process would also help me with a greater sense of well being. Thank you Total Personal Training!”
‘Principle of Fitness’ Presentation – 1st February 2010
“Thanks so much for organising last night’s information evening. To say it was an eye opener was a huge understatement – it was brilliant!! The time went so quickly I could have quite happily continued listening for hours more. (If only work seminars were like that!!).
The nutrition section was excellent and very well put together. It is clear both Jacqui and Mike of Total Personal Training are very knowledgeable about what they do. The information about the dynamic and static stretches at the beginning also made total sense.
If Total Personal Training arrange any other evenings with them I would definately want to attend. I learnt so much!”

“If I Can Do It Then You Can Too!”
“I was training for the London Marathon and was a frequent visitor to Jacqui for sports massages which are a very important part of the race preparation. During one visit a thought crossed my mind, could I do personal training or would it be beyond me? As I was really keen to avoid that horrible, “What now?” feeling after the marathon , I summoned up the courage to ask Jacqui if she would take me on for training and she agreed.
Two weeks after running the London Marathon I drove to my first session, totally terrified of what was to come and praying that I would not make a fool of myself. Before we began goals were set based around my running and keeping my weight down. Then we got down to the hard work. The session was great fun, the exercises innovative, always hitting the spot of the areas to be worked. I drove home exhausted but exhilarated and was already looking forward to the next session.
Along came the next session which was excellent too, and the next and the next, all brilliant. Very soon they did not come quickly enough for me, I viewed each one as a challenge, how much further could I push myself, how much fitter could I get and most of all I was having so much fun.
Five months on, I took part in The Great South 2008, a 10 mile race and improved my time of last year by 22 minutes! Training with Total Personal Training is quite simply brilliant, everybody should have a go!”

“Without Jacqui I would still be struggling back to health following a difficult birth and SPD – she has been the key to restoring my mobility, fitness levels and self-esteem. She’s a pleasure to be with and train alongside. Total Personal Training is worth every penny.”

“I had been experiencing problems with my lower back for over 20 years when I started personal training with Jacqui in October 2003. What had started at the age of 28 with a severe muscle spasm following an intensive weekend gardening session had got progressively worse over the years. With the two lowest discs barely functioning, I was finding that my back was significantly restricting both my lifestyle and my enjoyment of life. I was often in pain, had a very restricted range of movement and was taking anti-inflammatory pills almost like sweets. On a ski trip to Italy, I’d even had to take a back brace with me to ensure I could actually do some skiing!
In an effort to improve my situation I had explored a wide range of treatments including acupuncture, physiotherapy, cranial osteopathy, pilates and remedial massage. I found that the results were always minor and any improvement only temporary. I had also consulted an orthopaedic surgeon who had discussed the possibility of back surgery!
And then a friend recommended Jacqui, a Surrey Personal Trainer and Sports Massage Therapist. Although I could understand the benefit of having someone design a programme especially for me, in truth I couldn’t really see how having a Personal Trainer come to your home was going to work. How would she ever get all that bulky exercise equipment into my lounge? However, I had reached a point where I was willing to try anything if it would help my back.
With careful questioning Jacqui thoroughly investigated the situation with my back, including reviewing the orthopaedic surgeon’s report to me. She then tested my limited mobility with some fairly simple exercises – already well aware, I imagine, of the challenge she had on her hands! And so we began our ‘journey’ together.
We had regular weekly training sessions and, for each, Jacqui brought the (surprisingly little) necessary equipment to my house. We quickly established a rapport and, every month, she would carefully revise my programme, incrementally building upon my increasing strength and mobility. Over the past 12 months or so we have developed a real partnership with Jacqui becoming both my health and fitness conscience and mentor. With her words of encouragement to urge me on, I’ve found it surprisingly easy to maintain the motivation needed to make the effort required. I guess that is what one might expect of a Surrey Personal Trainer but it’s been clear from the start that Jacqui took a genuine interest in my progress and put in a lot of time and effort in preparing my carefully tailored programme.
The benefits of working with Jacqui started to become evident quite soon after we started working together and, over recent months, the improvements in my overall well-being have developed dramatically. I have lost weight, can see visible evidence of improved muscle tone, and am measurably fitter – all of which have increased my self-esteem considerably. But, best of all, my back is no longer the focus of my life! I can move freely, I can stand up straight, I am without pain for the majority of the time. I am still aware of my limitations and operate within them but, if pain starts, I now know what exercises and stretches I should do to minimise or even avoid the impact.
Jacqui’s holistic yet pragmatic approach to improving my health problem, was delivered with professionalism, understanding and gentle humour and has made a huge difference in my life. For anyone considering employing her services I can only say that, based on my personal experience, you have nothing at all to lose and ‘only’ your improved health to gain.”

“I love your classes – I feel I have had a great workout and yet I have enjoyed it as well!! Good music and lots of hard work but with laughs as well! I really feel the difference if I miss a session! Mike is great at catering for everyone’s needs and building up your fitness levels. I am SO glad I stopped making excuses and signed up!”
